Awakening Currents
The Persistence of Water
The Visual Intervention (Received in 2009 – Near Raleigh, North Carolina) presents a close-up, monochromatic view of water flowing over rocks. The grayscale tones give the scene a timeless and elemental quality. The water, appearing almost like a flowing mist, gently carves its path over the rugged textures of the stones, softened by the camera‘s focus. The play of light and shadow creates a dance of gradations from white to black, highlighting the intricate details of the water’s surface and the rocks beneath. It’s as if we are witnessing the world in the first light of dawn, awakening to the fundamental simplicity of water moving over stone.
